Prespatou and Buick Creek Technology Expectations

At Prespatou: We acknowledge the expectations of our local community in regards to accessing technology and the Web. That being said, our students in grades K-3 have limited access to technology/Web due to the wishes and expectations of their parents. Our school and community expects our students to use technology in a productive and positive manner. Students each year are educated in appropriate usage of technology by using the district’s technology slide presentation.

At Buick Creek: Our school and community expects our students to use technology in a productive and positive manner. Students each year are educated in appropriate usage of technology by using the district’s technology slide presentation.

At Both Schools: All students & parents are required to acknowledge and sign School District 60’s technology user agreement at the beginning of every school year in order to be able to utilize a district email account and utilize district technology.

2015-16: Students from grade 4- 11 attended a presentation on Digital Citizenship & Online Safety provided by the district.

2016-17: Students in grade 4 attended a presentation on Digital Citizenship & Online Safety provided by the district. Students in our grades 2-11 have access to digital safety through our teaching in class and any DE students for this year have been required to complete a DE course on the usage of course material and digital safety.

2017-18: Students in our grades 2-12 have access to digital safety through our teaching in classes and DE students are required to complete a DE course on the usage of course material and digital safety. May 30th the Grade 7 class will attend a presentation by district staff on safe text messaging.
