What a great way to start the day!!!!! The Kindergarten class came to sing O’Canada to me and remind me that it was time to change our flag.
As we all know, June is a very busy month. Every weekend seems to be full of auctions, weddings, gatherings, or camping trips. Originally we had set the Grad Baseball tournament for a weekend in June, but there doesn’t seem to be a good weekend to have it. For these reasons, the grad class has decided to try something new for their baseball tournament. It will be a One Pitch Tournament and will take place on Thursday June 21st, starting around 4pm. There will still be a canteen available, so bring the family down for some food and entertainment. Teams don’t need to be in until June 15th. Watch for posters to come out soon with more information. This also means a change to Sports Day, as the grad class is also running this canteen. Sports Day will now be Friday June 22nd.
Please Contact Mr. Koponyas @ 250-630-2241 for the baseball contact information.
Students watched a video on what Pink Shirt day was about and where it came from. Students then moved to different classrooms in their grade groups to watch a video on anti-bullying and then entered into discussions about what bullying is and what it means to them. Some students, in small groups, shared their experiences with bullying. All students came back to the gym and wrote a positive note on a paper pink shirt, which will be displayed on an anti-bullying bulletin board in the hall. Thank you to all our students and staff for making this happen!!!
