February Updates

winterWelcome to the second part of winter!!!! Remember to send your children to school with appropriate clothing….that includes being prepared for the bus ride.

Family Day

There will be no school on Monday, Feb.10 as it is Family Day in BC!

Staples Items

Staples runs a program where customers donate money to help students who find it difficult to get the proper school supplies. This year our school was awarded with $675 to help students in need. Many school supplies have been purchased and if you are in need of almost any kind of school supply see Mr. Brownlee and we can see if we can help.

Snow Blower Auction

The winning bid for the old snow blower was $237! Those funds will be put towards paying for the new one.

Satisfaction Survey

It is very important to the growth of our school for parents to fill out a school satisfaction survey. This will provide us with data and let us know where we are strong and what we should focus on improving. Any parent can fill out a survey and you can fill one out for each child you have in grades 4,7,10,12. The website you go to for the survey is:

http://www.bced.gov.bc.ca/sat_survey/ access.htm

(use underscore between sat and survey)

You will need a log in code and can call the school to get one or ask your child to get one from Mr. Brownlee. If you need computer access to do the survey, please feel free to drop by the school and we would be happy to assist you. It will take 10-15 minutes to complete and will again be very helpful to shaping our school’s ongoing success.

Will you be here next year?

Now is the time to start making plans for classes and to do so we need as accurate numbers of students as possible. Please contact the office as soon as you are able to inform us of the following:

  1. You have a student registering in Kindergarten in September.
  2. You have a child registering in the school who was not here this year.
  3. Your child will not be returning to school, discontinuing or moving away

Please pass this message to anyone you know of that may not get this newsletter!

Report Cards

Secondary Report cards will be going home on Feb. 7, 2014. Please contact teachers or the school if you have questions or concerns.
